The Allen Engineering AEM5 5.56mm Suppressor serves as a direct replacement for the MK12 SPR. It is secured to the firearm through a mount (not included) and a collar that fits over the barrel for proper alignment. The suppressor is attached via external threads on the mount, which centers on the adapter fitting. A 20-degree taper on the adapter ensures that the silencer is firmly locked onto the barrel, effectively sealing gases within the suppressor and preventing it from loosening during use. The AEM5 is particularly valued for its repeatability after removal from the rifle, a feature that is essential for precision shooting. Although the suppressor measures 8.8 inches in length, it extends only 4.5 inches beyond the muzzle device, as a significant portion of its length is integrated into the reflex design. It is compatible with standard AE/OPS style brakes and collars.
